Some companies really need to rethink how they do business!

Transition between applications, operating systems, payment solutions or anything else that will change the way you are used to doing certain stuff can be really difficult. I get that! Not everyone likes changes and everyone is dealing with them differently. But when it comes to companies, I believe that they have to be ready for everything that changes around them. So here’s a small story about a Greek company that blew me away with the way they are still doing business these days.

Guides and Grids made easy with Griddify.

Griddify is a Photoshop panel that eases the process of creating grids and guides. You remember when you were a kid and someone brought you a new game, a candy, a gadget or anything that you wished you had but you didn’t know if it existed or if someone will ever make it? Yeah… that’s the feeling I got once I installed that little gem. And if you think I’m overreacting… have a look at this short tutorial or install it and see for your self.

Speaking of introduction video… theatrejs seems like another cool thing to try!

Ceramic Speakers designed by Joey Roth.

Buy a new pair of speakers – An entry to my ever growing wanna-buy list that I fail to cross out for the past two years. Maybe it’s because I’m mostly satisfied with the sound produced by my Thunderbolt Display, but there are times when I want to crank the volume up and my current “sound system” just doesn’t live up to my expectations. And right when I’m 100% sure that I found the perfect speakers… oh that freakin price!

AcDisplay – Android notifications done right!

Posted on May 7, 2014 in Software

This is definitely the best gem I installed on my Moto G in the last few weeks. I may be using an iPhone as my daily driver, but I can’t help wishing there was something similar for my 5S. But then I remember that in order to have these kind of mods on an iPhone you need to jailbreak it etc. Meh…

AcDisplay is a new way of handling notifications in Android. It will let you know about new notifications by showing a minimal, beautiful screen, allowing you to open them directly from the lock screen. And if you want to see what\’s going on, you can simply take your phone out of your pocket to view all the latest notifications, in a similarly pleasing and minimalistic manner.

So if you’re an Android user, make sure to give AcDisplay a try and  I’m sure you’ll love it. You might also wanna check this clip of the upcoming v2.0 which has some really awesome new features.

As a huge fan of Dropbox, I use it every day for pretty much everything. However, one thing I hate is developing habits based on services. I worry a lot about security, web space and availability. And these are basically some of the reasons that made me move my work files to my personal cloud (powered by Synology but this a topic for another post). But still, Dropbox is a hell of a tool and the fact that it can be used in so many ways, make it a must have! But, there is always a but!

Love your job but don’t love your company, because you may not know when your company stops loving you.

Moto 360 by Motorola

Posted on March 18, 2014 in Gadgets

This is definitely the first “smart watch” that not only caught my eye but actually made me believe that I might  wear it. Even though I like tech gizmos like the Google Glass, smart watches etc. wearing them is completely different from carrying them. So it looks like Motorola is on to something good with this moto 360… I hope the Lenovo takeover won’t interfere with their smart watch plans.
