Gradience Wallpaper Pack

As someone who spends a lot of time on my computer, having a wallpaper that I truly enjoy is pretty important. It's been a whole year since I last created one that I really loved and even though it still looks great, I'm getting the itch to change things up a bit. I tend to shuffle things around pretty often, so having a wallpaper that can keep up with my latest obsessions is key. Plus, there's something so satisfying about creating something new and seeing it on my screen every day. Time to break out the design tools and start getting creative!

When I first created the Darknetic wallpaper, I was aiming to match the aesthetic of my office. I thought it looked pretty slick, but after sharing it, I received a lot of feedback on the color choices. Turns out, not everyone has the same workspace as me! So, I decided to switch things up a bit this time around. I wanted to make sure everyone could enjoy the dark, moody vibe, but with a touch of personalization. That's why I created a complete set of wallpapers that come in various color options. Flexibility is key, and I want everyone to be able to enjoy these designs no matter what their style is.

I'm not a big fan of very bright wallpapers because I want them to stay in the background and keep the emphasis on whatever app I'm working on. I have a habit of temporarily putting files and folders on the upper right side of my desktop and this wallpaper is designed around that idea. There's a bright corner on the lower left where Sleeve displays the music I'm listening to and a gradient pattern that fades to dark to emphasize the icons I need to clean off my desktop. This wallpaper is elegant but also encourages a clutter-free workspace. πŸ˜ƒ

The creation process

When it comes to designing, sometimes simple tools are the best ones. That's why I always go back to Figma, it never lets me down. After coming up with a design idea, I created the required layers and experimented with how shadows and transparencies blend. It's amazing how even the slightest tweak on the effects panel, can completely transform everything. Figma made it so easy to experiment until I was happy with the final result.

Choosing a color scheme for a project can be daunting - do you go for a bright and bold look or something more subdued? I picked out some of my all-time favorite colors and switched my color picker to HSB mode so that I could generate related shades and hues. I made sure to tweak the saturation and brightness for each overlapping element, resulting in a beautiful set of colors that I then turned into Figma color styles.

Defining the attributes for each element helped me to control the color of the element, the border, and its shadow in three separate layers. Once I had all the colors defined in Figma, I simply duplicated the color set and utilized the Swapper Figma plugin to effortlessly change the wallpaper to my desired color style. Even though it sounds simple now that it's finished, I experimented a lot before settling on this method.

The result I something I enjoy looking at every day as much as I did while creating it, and I hope you do too. 😊

Supported devices

I started designing this wallpaper for my MacBook, but the more I played around with it, the more I fell in love with it. That's when I decided to make it available for all screen sizes, including Apple's Pro Display XDR. And, why stop there? I made versions for tablets and mobile devices too. You'll love how it looks on any iPad, iPhone, or Android device.

Equinox Wallpaper

A couple of weeks have passed since I installed iOS 16 on my phone, and like many people are saying, the most note-worthy part of this release is the new lock screen. I love the customisation options it offers and the depth effect that can be added to any photo so effortlessly! Apple always kills it with their wallpapers, and the new Astronomy one is no different! The sleek animation between the lock and home screens is amazing, and the active dot on Earth that indicates your current location is a brilliant detail. But I'm never fully satisfied with the default offerings of any operating system, regardless of how good they are. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
