HyperDrive

I’ve been an Apple fan for a very long time and I understand that when a product is as popular as the MacBook Pro, it becomes almost impossible to satisfy everyone 100%. But seriously though… Was it really THAT hard for the Apple geniuses to come up with something like this instead of the gazillion dongles sold separately? For a company that’s being praised for its amazing design choices, this dongle-everything trend feels like a temporary work around… and a quite expensive one!

Stylish desk products by Grovemade.

I’m a sucker for organized workspaces and office minimalism, and Grovemade’s products just hit a soft spot in my design taste. Wood and leather may not be my first choices but their products are making me reconsider!

Ceramic Speakers designed by Joey Roth.

Buy a new pair of speakers – An entry to my ever growing wanna-buy list that I fail to cross out for the past two years. Maybe it’s because I’m mostly satisfied with the sound produced by my Thunderbolt Display, but there are times when I want to crank the volume up and my current “sound system” just doesn’t live up to my expectations. And right when I’m 100% sure that I found the perfect speakers… oh that freakin price!

Moto 360 by Motorola

This is definitely the first “smart watch” that not only caught my eye but actually made me believe that I might  wear it. Even though I like tech gizmos like the Google Glass, smart watches etc. wearing them is completely different from carrying them. So it looks like Motorola is on to something good with this moto 360… I hope the Lenovo takeover won’t interfere with their smart watch plans.

A new car UI.

To me this looks like an amazing idea! However I am not really sure as to how my parents or people above a certain age would react to this. Using an iPad and other touch based devices for a few years, gives me the experience needed not only to operate a UI like this, but also makes me able to easily memorise what happens with three fingers, four etc. But I sense a high level of difficulty trying to explain this to my mother, who just learned how to “swipe” photos on my iPad.

I can see this being the future though. When my daughters are 30+ and I’m the old guy in the picture, maybe I’ll be tech savvy enough for something like this.

Voice controlled home automation with Android.

I’ve always had a soft spot about home automation. These things tend to impress me and make me jealous. So now I need to figure out how to teach all that to Siri and I’m good to go.
